This outing came just two days after Haaland made his first start following an injury layoff that kept him sidelined for ten matches from mid-December to late January. He had previously made a cameo in City’s 3-1 victory over Burnley before leading the line in their 3-1 win against Brentford, where he contributed an assist.
Haaland has recently been linked with a potential move to Real Madrid, but manager Pep Guardiola dismissed those rumors, stating that any decisions regarding contract extensions will depend on Haaland and the club.
